14 audio DSP boards for two HD OB trucks
Berlin, August 2017: TopVision, the Berlin-based specialist for outdoor TV broadcasting, has had two of its OB vans upgraded with a powerful audio DSP unit from STAGETEC. The OB vans Ü2 and Ü5 will each be equipped with seven DSP cards from the RMDQ assembly. The OB van productions are demanding and require excellent sound, including multi-channel sound for HDTV formats. With the new DSP cards, all required configurations can be implemented - with up to 800 audio channels and 128 summing buses, depending on the distribution. The AURUS consoles, which have been installed in both OB vans for many years, can now use new features such as STAGETEC's Automixer. Loudness metering according to EBU R 128 is now also available in the summing and group channels.
There are many possible applications for these and other new features, because TopVision's repertoire is extraordinarily diverse and demanding. It ranges from soccer in the Bundesliga, the DFB Cup and the Champions League to athletics, biathlon, luge and ski jumping and ski world championships.
But also with events like the Salzburg Festival, the New Year's Concert, the reception of the national team at the Brandenburg Gate, the Pope's visit, the inauguration of Hangar 7 or the Allianz Arena, the G7 as well as the G20 Summit, TopVision supplies public and private broadcasters with picture and sound.

Achim Jendges knows what he is talking about, because TopVision is a long-time user of STAGETEC technology. A CANTUS has been installed in Ü4 for 17 years - the first mixing console from STAGETEC and predecessor of AURUS. Even at 17 years old, CANTUS is still operational, for example for the broadcast of the DFB Cup, the 2nd Bundesliga and many winter sports events, etc.
