Software Release 4.5 for AURUS and CRESCENDO

Las Vegas/Frankfurt, April 2018: STAGETEC will present some new features in audio processing for AURUS and CRESCENDO at NAB (N1424) and prolight+sound (3.1 G83), which will be implemented with software release 4.5.

In all AURUS and CRESCENDO systems, a bypass function can now be switched for each individual aux VCA. This feature, which is only offered by STAGETEC consoles, is in demand for rehearsal situations with feeds in live and sound reinforcement applications.

Another new feature concerns the hierarchy of VCA groups. A channel can now be assigned to several VCA groups, and additional groupings can also be made. A total of 30 VCA groups can be selected.

By popular request, automatic stereo downmix with level correction according to ITU-R 775-3 is now available when switching 5.1 sources to stereo groups or sums. This feature is available for AURUS and CRESCENDO and is mainly used in broadcast.

Another feature is an internal tone generator, which is now switchable in the central channel control in the AURUS and CRESCENDO. This means that the mixer can already be set up, even if the NEXUS audio network is not yet connected. This makes work easier, especially for broadcast users (e.g., in OB vans).

With the newly developed M/S decoder, M/S stereo is now automatically available for input channels in all STAGETEC mixing consoles. An integrated upmix process allows decoded M/S signals or stereo signals to be automatically mixed onto multi-channel buses. Interesting especially for post production users.

Meet STAGETEC at the trade fairs: NAB (N1424) and prolight+sound (3.1 G83)!
