ISE: IP console AVATUS from STAGETEC as theater version

Amsterdam, Netherlands, February 2019: STAGETEC, the Berlin-based manufacturer of professional audio technology, will present its IP-based AVATUS mixing console as a theater console with a removable screen as a world premiere at ISE (booth 15-R264). In many theaters, structural conditions mean that control rooms are designed in such a way that sound engineers are often unable to see over their mixing consoles to the stage. AVATUS offers a solution to this problem. The theater version of AVATUS is designed so that the top screens are removable. Since the IP console is connected via standardized TCP/IP interfaces, each module has its own IP address. This allows the screens to be installed anywhere within the NEXUS network.

"AVATUS was developed to create an optimal symbiosis of flexible touch technology and proven haptic control elements. The concept, which is based entirely on IP technology, is suitable for a wide range of applications. AVATUS can be tailored to various applications in the theater, broadcast and live areas," comments René Harder, member of the management board at STAGETEC.

The IP-based connectivity of AVATUS offers new possibilities for building infrastructures and redefines the term mixing console interface. AVATUS is the world's first audio console without a central section and will consist of only three different modules. The console will be available in sizes ranging from 12 to 96 faders.
