AES67: STAGETEC and DirectOut cooperate

Berlin/Mittweida, April, 2017: German ProAudio specialist 'DirectOut Technologies' and 'STAGETEC', the Berlin-based manufacturer of digital audio mixing consoles and routing systems, have announced a close cooperation in the development of Audio-over-IP solutions.

The cooperation is based on DirectOut's powerful AES67 hardware platform, known from the MONTONE.42 MADI / RAVENNA bridge. The goal of the joint effort is to make all STAGETEC products based on the NEXUS digital routing system compatible for AES67.

"We are pleased to be working with DirectOut, an early adopter of AES67. The reliability and flexibility of DirectOut products are important options for vendor-independent audio and control networking," commented Dr. Helmut Jahne, CEO of STAGETEC. "With the integration of the DirectOut AES67 platform, we are adding a contemporary audio interface to our products, expanding our range of audio formats already supported. This means we are well equipped for requirements of IP-based projects in the future. We want to make STAGETEC's products ready for interoperability not only in the audio area but also in the control area. That is why we are also focusing on protocols such as AES70, NMOS-IS04 and SMPTE 2110 -30/31 in the near future."

Stephan Flock, DirectOut's Technical Director, welcomes the collaboration between the two companies, "As a RAVENNA partner from the beginning and a long-time supporter of AES67, we are happy to make our AES67 hardware available to other manufacturers who want to add a powerful audio-over-IP interface to their products. The experience we have gained at the AES Plugfest events we regularly attend and in projects worldwide has been incorporated into our AES67 implementation. We are very pleased to support a renowned company like STAGETEC with our technology to develop new networked solutions for audio."
