Bamberg, June 2025 – Every year on the Feast of Corpus Christi, the historic streets of Bamberg are transformed into a space of solemn celebration and shared faith. To ensure that thousands can experience this special procession – even those who are not present in person – the Archdiocese of Bamberg has relied on the technical precision and dedication of STAGETEC for more than six decades. What began 62 years ago has grown into a finely coordinated union of audio expertise and living tradition.
A Technical Symphony in the Heart of the City
The procession stretches over nearly two kilometres – from Markusstraße, across Maxplatz, and up to Domplatz. Along this route, STAGETEC provides clear and powerful sound through hundreds of loudspeakers, all connected by a three-kilometre cable system. Analogue signal paths and digital mixing work hand in hand like the gears of a finely tuned clock – a delicate balance that calls for skill and precision.
Six Days of Effort for a Few Hours of Sound
What is just a few hours for the public is the result of at least six days of intensive work for STAGETEC’s team. More than 25 staff members are involved in setting up the system, testing it, operating it live, and then removing it without a trace. This is done with care, professionalism – and a deep respect for the meaning behind the event.
Making Participation Possible for Everyone
For many elderly or mobility-impaired people, the procession would be inaccessible without clear audio transmission. Thanks to STAGETEC, the voices and music of the celebration reach every square and side street, making it possible for everyone – even from a distance – to feel included. People come from all over Franconia and beyond to take part, in person or through the sound that fills the city.
