Nils Frahm tours the world with AURUS platinum

Berlin, February 2018: Nils Frahm is a composer, producer and performer with a huge following among music connoisseurs beyond the mainstream worldwide. In mid-January, he began a tour at Funkhaus Berlin that will take him around the world for two years. As FOH console, Nils Frahm will take an AURUS platinum from Berlin-based manufacturer STAGETEC with him on the road.

The AURUS platinum has 32 faders and is integrated into a NEXUS network with three Base Devices. The four RMDQ DSP boards in the NEXUS STAR router are used to realize configurations with 90 input channels and 60 busses.

Piano and keyboard virtuoso Nils Frahm makes electronic music ranging from techno to classical with synthesizers, amplifiers, mixers, and pianos. He won the German Film Award for Best Film Score in 2015 for the soundtrack to the film "Victoria."

"Until now, I only used analog technology for my performances, not only because it avoids latency also because I was convinced that it sounds better than digital systems. Then I heard STAGETEC's TrueMatch microphone converter and could hardly believe it was a digital converter. The latency is not noticeable and the sound quality is beyond reproach, " Nils Frahm sums up enthusiastically. "Since I've been using STAGETEC live, I've been getting an enormous number of compliments on the sound quality and my performance is essentially improved. Nobody in my team can imagine a future without STAGETEC."

Nils Frahm's seventh studio album "ALL MELODY" was released at the end of January. It was created in the Berlin Funkhaus, where the Berliner-by-choice has his studio. The listed Funkhaus on Nalepastrasse was home to the GDR's radio station until 1990. Today, the preserved music recording studios and the large broadcasting hall are world-famous for their excellent acoustics. Well-known orchestras, major music labels and famous groups now record their albums here. Nils Frahm gave the first four concerts of his tour in the Funkhaus, which sold out just as quickly as many other concerts in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Scandinavia, Great Britain, the USA, Canada and Japan.
