Amsterdam, Netherlands, September 2019: STAGETEC will present its brand new fully IP-based console AVATUS at IBC (stand 8.C80), which was launched at the end of June. With release 1.6, scene automation has been fully implemented as an important feature for theater and live applications.
AVATUS celebrated its German premiere in mid-July at the Konzerthaus Berlin. The new season also begins with AVATUS at the Staatstheater Mainz, the Volksbühne Berlin and Les Théâtres de la Ville in Luxembourg. Since last year, tpc's UHD1 has been working with the IP console.
In terms of the operating concept and the user interface, there is no comparable console on the market. Due to the modular concept, AVATUS is the first mixing console worldwide without a classic central control panel. Modular, decentralized and yet freely configurable, the user can access all parameters at any time.
12 color-coded faders, two 21" multi-touch displays and 48 dual encoders per unit, can be combined to sizes from 12 to 96 faders. The color coding of the channel parameters guides the user intuitively and self-explanatory through the functions of the mixing console. On each multi-touch display, parameters of the audio channels can be operated in a large detailed view, and the monitoring functions or a current status of audio channels can be called up. Visual feedback of various operating actions provides the user with security and an overview of his work. With the new patented concept of color coding the faders, AVATUS supports a fast workflow.
NEXUS Base Devices IP-based
The NEXUS audio network, from Berlin-based manufacturer STAGETEC, was previously designed exclusively for networking via a proprietary fiber-optic cable protocol. At the IBC (booth 8.C80), STAGETEC will show that NEXUS can now also send individual or multiple base devices IP-based. In doing so, bidirectional AES67 streams are established in which audio and control data are transmitted together. This feature is realized via the NEXUS interfaces XFIP and RIF67, which are both equipped with DirectOut's AES67.IO module. With an XFIP or RIF67 interface, a network with up to eight NEXUS Base Devices is possible.
Thanks to this feature, NEXUS networks are independent of proprietary cabling and enable remote productions and wide-area networking thanks to IP-based connectivity.
