CRESCENDO continues the Stage Tec concept of consistent separation between the mixing console and the I/O matrix: the main console is purely an operation and control surface. The CRESCENDO mixing system includes the main console, the separate audio processor NEXUS STAR and the NEXUS audio network. This segmentation allows decentralised and effective audio networks to be created.

The console interface is modular and consists of various control panels and TFT screens. The desk top version also has a keyboard. CRESCENDO provides up to 48 control channel strips and a centre section.

Fully expanded, the CRESCENDO is powered by seven DSP processing cards, sufficient for 300 audio channels. Configuration details and a great deal of other information are displayed on the screen in the master section of the console.

CRESCENDO energy consumption is very low and no fan is required. The console is portable, and offered as standard as a light-weight table-top or integrated version – CRESCENDO is also available  in an optional version with legs.

Concurrent connection of two CRESCENDO control surfaces to the same audio processor is a standard feature of the AURUS basic concept:: The first option is to run the CRESCENDO in parallel mode where the secondary console – typically the smaller one – acts as a remote control for the main console by accessing selected main-console resources in parallel. The parallel console configuration is used principally for rehearsals.

On the other hand it is also possible to run two CRESCENDOs connected to the same NEXUS STAR, each with its own signal processing. The two consoles operate independently from each other but have access to the same audio resources. This is useful, for example, when sound reinforcement is needed for an event which is also to be recorded or broadcast live at the same time. The split option available for microphone inputs can also be used in this setup.
