New Audio-Processing Effects Thanks to VST Plug-Ins

Berlin, April 2009: At this year’s Prolight+Sound, SALZBRENNER STAGETEC MEDIAGROUP introduces a new interface for VST plug-ins, implemented on the large AURUS digital console, which provides handy access to virtual sonic worlds.

VST plug-ins are popular for good reason. These software modules provide access to a cornucopia of creative sound effects while keeping hardware expenses to a minimum. The new VST add-on provides AURUS users with convenient access to these advantages: The VST plug-ins are installed on a VST host supplied by STAGETEC. This host is connected to the AURUS/NEXUS system and is addressed directly like any other audio I/O. Thus, effects produced by VST plug-ins can be inserted into any AURUS audio channel and be routed globally within the NEXUS system. »The new VST add-on integrates virtual effects, which used to be accessible only through DAWs, with the AURUS,« says Dr Klaus Scholz, managing director of STAGETEC in Berlin. »This opens up new creative possibilities and is of particular interest where external FX units are not an option for whatever reason—for example, due to lack of space in OB trucks.«
