IBC 2002 - CANTUS

New CANTUS Features Introduced at the IBC Show

At this year's IBC Convention in Amsterdam, SALZBRENNER STAGETEC MEDIAGROUP will not only show their new AURUS audio mixing desk but also introduce a number of significant software enhancements to their CANTUS digital mixing-console system. The new Reverse Routing window improves control of this freely configurable console especially in live situations: When selecting a channel strip, the new function shows the groups and buses the respective channel is routed to. The Reverse Routing window is displays a simple table with the routing information on the integrated TFT screen of CANTUS. Thus, time-consuming channel-routing determination has become obsolete.

The scope of CANTUS' acclaimed dynamic automation functionality has been considerably enhanced, too. A key feature is the new rehearsal mode. This function provides an Isolate Move mode allowing rehearsing, for example, smooth filter »sweeps« in one or more channels and automatically writing the optimum settings to the mix. The user can define punch-in and punch-out points between which the changes will occur. Unlike with the standard Isolate function, the new Isolate Move mode will not modify the entire channel with all its parameters but only the parameter that have actually been changed. This feature significantly simplifies the Isolate function.

More improvements relate to the scene automation that is mostly used in theaters or opera houses.

With these latest enhancements, SALZBRENNER STAGETEC MEDIAGROUP will even more improve the market share of the CANTUS - a mixing-console system that has been setting new standards in production, broadcasting, and radio technology and has become a classic in European broadcasting studios during the last decade.
