Major event covering current and future digital-audio topics in theory and practice announced for 2011

Buttenheim, November 2010: After a break of several years, SALZBRENNER STAGETEC MEDIAGROUP will revive their tradition of audio seminars at Banz Monastery in 2011. In the secluded atmosphere of the former Abbey, experts of the highest calibre will talk about current practice and future developments in digital audio.
On pairs of consecutive dates the seminar content will be aimed principally at meeting the requirements of two diverse target audiences from broadcast and the theatre. The programme is receiving its final touches currently and will include papers and workshops on key issues such as audio-over-IP and the AVB (Audio Video Bridge) standard, the secrets of successful FPGA design, virtual acoustics in theory and practice, and 3-D video reproduction. There will be practical papers about exciting productions from all over the world including, for example, broadcasting the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest and the extensive conversion of the technical systems at the Bolshoi theatre. These will provide interesting insights into the possibilities and limitations of modern audio technology.
Flanking the seminar, a small exhibition will showcase the latest products from the MEDIAGROUP and their partners.
The SALZBRENNER STAGETEC MEDIAGROUP – a consortium of several development, manufacturing, and sales companies as well as a systems design and provider – views the Banz seminars as an ideal opportunity for knowledge transfer to their customers and partners. While the MEDIAGROUP’s range of products will remain mostly in the background, the event will focus on disseminating the knowledge and skills of their in-house specialists as well as internationally renowned experts.

The seminar will take place on the 11th and 12th October 2011 and the 13th and 14th of October 2011. The first event will concentrate on broadcast issues, the second one on theatre and sound-reinforcement topics.
