Monitoring

The AURATUS provides both stereo and 5.1-channel monitor buses (5.1 is available for AURATUS multichannel projects only). The sources for these two monitor buses can be freely selected. It is even possible to route NEXUS signals to the monitor channel.

In addition to the PFL and Solo buses, virtually any signal on the system can be selected for monitoring: NEXUS resources, channel outputs, mixing buses, or direct outputs. The monitoring panel provides several keypads where you can select all the important sources. Other signals can be selected using the NEXUS software. Analogue nearfield speakers and headphones connect to the console directly.

Solo and PFL

The AURATUS provides several options for monitoring channels. Various solo, solo in-place, and PFL modes are available. PFL monitoring can be performed using a dedicated stereo bus, to which you can assign all required channels. The PFL bus signal can be routed either to the monitor bus or the NEXUS.auratus-monitorkass

The AURATUS’ solo function supports multichannel operation. Depending on the project setup selected, the solo bus has either a stereo or a 6-channel configuration. All signals to be monitored can be routed to these. When solo is activated, the main CR monitor channel selects the solo bus automatically.

Alternatively, you can use the destructive In-place-solo mode, which mutes all channels whose solo function is off. You can also exclude certain channels from the solo function, which may be useful for effects returns.

The solo and PFL functions can either be combined or used in a mutually exclusive fashion.

Talkback

A console microphone for talkback purposes can be assigned to the desired summing bus and activated by pressing a key. The output signal of this talk channel can be processed with a compressor and is transmitted to the NEXUS system where it can be routed to all required outputs.

In addition to any mixing console input, the incoming (talkback) signal can be assigned to the additional input of the PFL channel or to any NEXUS output (feeding a separate PFL speaker).
