Message System

Communication within the entire NEXUS system, i.e. the transmission of commands and system statuses, is based on messages. Base devices exchange messages via fibre-optic lines; however, this message system oper-ates independently of the signal distribution. The control computers are integrated into the message system, too. Confirmation messages ensure a continuous update of all base devices and user-interface computers.
Base devices and control computers regularly check their connections during communication gaps using cyclical test messages. Thus, new connections or breakdowns are immediately recognized and considered during infor-mation updates.
