NEXUS Features
System view
A graphical control program is the interface between the user and NEXUS. It runs on standard PCs under Microsoft™ Windows™ and includes a system-view function with information screens, graphical routing matrices (matrix windows), various editing and metering windows (referred to as parameter windows), and management functions for projects and snapshots.
The control programs running on all connected computers are fully integrated with the NEXUS network’s message system. The control PCs are automatically updated and display the current routing-matrix status at all times.
There are various selectable views of the overall system used for clearly visualizing the functional or spatial relationships required for a variety of purposes.
› The normal view shows the Base Devices, active control computers and any external sync sources as icons. It allows inputs and outputs to be selected, for example, when setting up partial matrices and also shows failed devices.
System view
› The alternative view shows the Base Devices without their front panels. This allows boards without or with detached front panels to be viewed — for example, XDSP boards hidden behind other 8-DU panels for space-saving purposes.
› The Patch-Box View shows any inputs, outputs, and processing channels, clearly arranged as so-called resource pools (or patch boxes).
› The graphical patchbox view shows these resource pools on a background image such as a floor plan. It allows the buttons to be graphically allocated to the resource locations.
