Digital Format Conversion

Interface boards for converting audio and ancillary data to the NEXUS 24-bit TDM format are available for a variety of digital formats. All digital inputs feature a double buffering facility. This avoids muting of digital audio signals whose phasing is out of tolerance with the AES-11 standard.

Optional Sample-rate Converters

All boards including output boards can be equipped with sample-rate converters for interfacing with asynchronous devices. Many boards are available either with or without converters, so the customer is free to choose where converters are used. Of course, sample-rate converters can still be retrospectively installed.

A Variety of Digital Formats

Currently, the following formats are available (further formats are under development):
 
›  XER input board for AES/EBU, S/PDIF, and AES-42 signals (available with XLR, RCA coaxial, or TOSLINK optical, D-Sub, BNC or RJ45 ports)
 
›  XET output board for AES/EBU, S/PDIF, and AES-42 signals (available with XLR, RCA coaxial, TOSLINK optical, D-Sub, BNC or RJ45 ports)
 
›  XAF Alesis ADAT interface (8-channel combined I/O board)
 
›  XMF MADI interface (up to 64 I/O channels, BNC or optical ports)
 
›  XSF SDIF-2 interface (8-channel combined I/O board)
 
›  XTF Tascam TDIF interface (8-channel combined I/O board)
 
›  XYF Yamaha MEL2, Y2 interface (8-channel combined I/O board; input-only or output-only versions available)
