Analogue-Audio
High-End Microphone Converters
XMIC+ is a new microphone-input
board featuring a dynamic range of 158 dB(A). Compared with its predecessor,
the XMAD board, the XMIC+ offers twice the number of inputs: The XMIC+ digitises
up to eight analogue microphone signals, without pre-amplification, to a 32-bit signal.
Thanks to this high resolution, analogue pre-amplification is
no longer required — just as with the XMIC+’s predecessors. At the same
time, the board also handles higher input levels (up to 24 dBu) and can thus
also be used for line inputs.
The XMIC+ can be used either in the traditional way with a single output, or
as a splitter amplifier with up to four independent outputs per microphone input.
Hence, the boards can be operated without the external splitters and microphone preamps
required by conventional solutions.
Outstanding Converters for Line Signals
The XAD+, and XDA+ 8-channel
analogue line input and output boards offer an exceptional dynamic range of 133 dB(A)
and 131 dB(A), respectively.
This performance, meeting virtually all demands, is achieved using special A/D
and D/A conversion technology developed by Stage Tec. All A/D converters make use
of Stage Tec’s patented TrueMatch technology.
Multi-I/O Converters
The HXAD and HXDA boards each feature 16 analogue line I/Os. The eight analogue stereo
inputs (HXAD) or stereo outputs (HXDA), respectively, are connected via D-Sub or
RJ45 terminals on 4-DU panels.
For the first time, the galvanic isolation, which is a standard feature of all other
NEXUS boards, was omitted, thus saving costs and space. The HXAD and HXDA boards
can handle a maximum analogue level of 15 dBu, thus complying with
the EBU broadcasting requirements. They are primarily intended for permanent
installations.
Global Full-scale Level of up to 24 dBu
The full-scale level (0 dBFS) is set globally. Thus, a NEXUS system
can be adjusted to a variety of environments or specifications without modification.
