president of Greece when he addressed the 72,000 visitors at the
opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in the Athens in 2004. More
than 200 loudspeakers and over 90 power amplifiers made him heard
even in the most remote corners of the new stadium. This was a particular

San Remo Festival San Remo Festival has been the largest event for Italy’s music
industry for decades. The festival is live-broadcasted to more than
30 countries, and more than 19 million people only in Italy watch
the show every year. For some years now, the RAI Italian Broadcasting
Service has relied on seven independent CANTUS desks providing altogether
260 audio channels and 13 NEXUS Base Devices located at ten different

La Traviata
A very special opera event went on in Paris in early June 2000:
La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi was performed at the original scenes
and was live-broadcasted on TV. But it was not only the actual locations
of the scenes where the play was to be performed but also the authentic
times of day; therefore, the performance extended over four different
times of day. Using CANTUS/NEXUS, 125 broadcasting services - from
Argentina to Cyprus, from Finland to New Zealand - put the show on
air, and it was approximately 1.5 billion people who were watching
the event, according to figures spread by the RAI Italian Broadcasting
