Straightforward Concept
A NEXUS audio network consists of the following elements:
- Base Devices providing inputs, outputs, and signal-processor
boards.
- Duplex fibre-optic cables interconnecting the Base Devices.
- Control computers serving as interfaces between the NEXUS system
and the user.
A very small system might simply consist of a single Base Device
connected to a control computer whenever required. Large routing networks might however
contain many distributed Base Devices and often include multiple control computers.
A standard NEXUS Base Device can act as a central router in larger networks while
the NEXUS STAR system is available for very extensive
routing requirements.
