NEXUS
The NEXUS is a fully digital routing system for audio signals. Designed as a distributed system, the NEXUS comprises multiple Base Devices having a modular structure interconnected by fibre-optic cables. The system is operated using a control software application running on decentralized personal computers. All NEXUS routing systems have a customer-specific configuration and can be extended after installation. The NEXUS can also be used as an I/O router for Stage Tec mixing-console systems (AURUS, CANTUS, and CINETRA). Multiple console systems can coexist on a NEXUS system.

Straightforward Concept

A NEXUS audio network consists of the following elements:

  • Base Devices providing inputs, outputs, and signal-processor boards.
  • Duplex fibre-optic cables interconnecting the Base Devices.
  • Control computers serving as interfaces between the NEXUS system and the user.

A very small system might simply consist of a single Base Device connected to a control computer whenever required. Large routing networks might however contain many distributed Base Devices and often include multiple control computers.
A standard NEXUS Base Device can act as a central router in larger networks while the NEXUS STAR system is available for very extensive routing requirements.
