STAGETEC products to enable World
Cup broadcasts
AURUS, CANTUS and NEXUS in use at the 2006 World
Cup in Germany
Berlin, June 2006: There is just no denying it – the
2006 World Cup is destined to become a media frenzy – and as far as the eye
can see, STAGETEC products are doing their part to make the TV and Broadcast productions
a reality. For example, the ZDF-Sportschau and the ZDF-Morgenmagazin will be using
two AURUS consoles at a temporary TV station set up directly in Berlin’s Potsdamer
Platz in the center of town. A number of OB trucks will be using AURUS, CANTUS and
NEXUS for live feeds from the various venues. NEXUS will even be used in the Gottlieb-Daimler
Stadium in Stuttgart during the preliminary rounds and in the round of sixteen to
help ensure sound and security in the arena.

Nine of the ten stations broadcasting in the ARD, as well
as the ZDF, n-tv and RTL are using the NEXUS digital signal router, the AURUS, and
CANTUS mixing consoles in either their main broadcasting stations or in their OB
trucks. By special arrangements made for the World Cup, the WDR in Köln (Cologne)
is outfitted with a temporary NEXUS central control room and uses their new AURUS-equipped
tv studios Studio A and Studio S to enable surround mixing in Dolby E and SDI for
the ARD.
A number of individual service providers are also getting in on the action, with
their OB trucks with either AURUS or CANTUS systems on board. One such example is
TopVision, which will make use of its brand new HD-enabled OB truck for the event.
International stations are also making use of STAGETEC Products for their broadcasts.
They represent World Cup member nations including England, France, Italy, Japan,
the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, the Ukraine and the
USA. Once again, these top-of-the-line products from Berlin are demonstrating their
competence in large-scale live events, just as they did at the 2006 Olympic Games
in Torino. |
