to strengthen activities in Japanese broadcast
New distributor agreement contracted with Tokyo
based audio firm General Traders
Buttenheim, April 2005: Germany’s manufacturer of digital
high-end audio SALZBRENNER STAGETEC MEDIAGROUP has selected Tokyo
based audio firm General Traders Ltd. as new exclusive distributor
for the Japanese broadcast market. The agreement was signed between
General Traders’ Managing Director Tadayoshi Shiraishi and
MEDIAGROUP representatives in late 2004. After having set up an own
subsidiary in Kuala Lumpur in January 2004 and working together with
Heavy Moon inc. since December 2004 as exclusive distributor for
the Japanese live sound market, the decision for General Traders
once again marks a major step for the MEDIAGROUP towards the development
of their business in Asia.
General Traders was co-founded in 1961 in Tokyo
by Takeo Ueshima and Tadayoshi Shiraishi and has established itself
as one of the
leading pro audio distributors for Japan in the past 40 years. Today,
the company represents more than 20 major international pro audio
companies and covers markets such as broadcast, recording, film,
post production and fixed installations throughout the whole of Japan. “General
Traders was selected as our exclusive distributor in the broadcast
due to their long-term experience in this market segment and their
excellent knowledge of the Japanese broadcast industry”, states
Stephan Salzbrenner, Managing Director of the MEDIAGROUP. “This
is an epoch-making milestone in General Traders’ history”,
