Japanese TV broadcaster Fuji TV selects AURUS digital console
“Since dual use for live mixing and production was intended,
Fuji TV was seeking for flexible equipment that
adapts to both tasks”, explains Tadayoshi Shiraishi, Managing
Director of General Traders. “With the
combination of AURUS and NEXUS we were able to close the gap between
these two different applications and offer
a perfect solution: Compatibility to almost any digital or analogue
format including SDI forwarding via NEXUS,
easy integration of supplementing equipment such as VTR or ProTools,
full dynamic and static automation for
recording, extreme reliability thanks to redundant layout and – last
but not least – an excellent sound quality!”,
he continues.
Configured to Fuji TV’s requirements, the new AURUS will feature
40 channel strips on the control surface and a
total DSP power of 168 audio channels plus 128 mix buses. A NEXUS audio
network made up of 5 base devices
complements the installation and provides for the huge number of 220
multi format I/O’s including analogue ports,
digital AES/EBU and MADI. For maximum safety during on-air operation
all components are equipped with redundant
power supply units and connected via redundant fibre-optics.
At Fuji TV AURUS is mainly dedicated for the use
in post production and recording but will also be in use for on-air mixing
during one of the most popular music
programs in Japan called “Music Fair”, which is broadcasted
by Fuji TV once a week since 40 years. |
