India Radio's New NEXUS-based Control Room
The All India Radio (AIR) government broadcasting service opted for
NEXUS as the central audio network and routing system for networking
the 27 radio studios housed in its new digital complex in New Delhi.
An exciting switching-room concept was accomplished, consisting of ten
separate base devices. Unlike in Europe, the radio studios are not directly
connected to a control center but connect to each other and to the control
center via five so-called control booths.
In addition to the NEXUS, All India Radio uses the MATRIX CONTROL software
that has been developed by ASPA Madrid and is used by many private radio
stations. This software allows, for example, for programming automated
scheduled routing.
