Seminar In A Monastery: Banz 2001
At the moment, audio technology is undergoing a transition unseen
before. The ever-increasing usage of multi-channel formats in all areas
- from theater to broadcasting - and the ongoing merger of computer
networking and audio applications require extended know-how from designers
and users.
For the third year in a row, Stage Tec organized two audio-related
training courses with renowned speakers from the fields of audio research,
development, and deployment. The courses are meant to be a platform
for experience exchange and knowledge imparting and aim at sound engineers
and technical executives of broadcasting services and theaters, and
scoping engineers.
There are not only presentations but also the chance of participating
in sessions and discussions. The event was accompanied by product exhibitions
and workshops;
for example, the big Ü2000 O.B. Truck of the Mefisto production company - an excellent
instance of audio-technology implementation - was freely accessible for investigation.
The hall was equipped with a large multi-channel sound-reinforcement installation
by Klein + Hummel and a conferencing/interpreting system by Sennheiser. The entire
event was simultaneously interpreted to English and French.
