Training at the CINETRA
There is a new kid on the block on the famous and most traditional
film campus of Germany at Potsdam-Babelsberg (near Berlin): The HFF
(Film and Television Academy) in Potsdam opted for a CINETRA film
console made by Stage Tec for their new premises on the Babelsberg
film campus, located on the doorstep of numerous well-known film-production
companies. In early 2000, the whole university moved to the bright
and modern site with its fully equipped studio complex including
a big film stage, a TV studio, and monitoring rooms featuring THX
acoustics. All departments of the academy are united now for the
first time.
However, which console to prefer was not a simple decision: Should
it be a CANTUS or a CINETRA? CINETRA is a true film console, created
by and for movie experts. In the end, CINETRA won out because of
its advanced features. With CINETRA, you get a freely definable bus
structure including reassign busses that enable specialist film-mixing
techniques, split dialog, and music and sound FX stems. Another key
feature is the complex monitoring section, in particular designed
for film and multi-channel productions. Combined displays on the
meter bridge do not only show the levels but also the routing statuses
of the individual channels. The desk's filter elements are programmable
for various degrees of touch-sensitivity which is critical for film
engineers who work with their eyes fixed on the screen. Further,
CINETRA supports all multi-channel formats up to 7.1-channel SDDS.
With all these features, CINETRA is the ultimate tool for every aspiring
film tonmeister!
