Controls
AURUS was our first console to use space-saving dual-concentric
encoders
with a switching function providing direct access to two
parameters.
The underlying technology is also implemented on
AURATUS.
Thanks to the absence of inconsistent display indications and
the need to spread parameters over adjacent channel strips, this
system
works and feels like an analogue desk. The combination of
concentric
encoders and multi-coloured LED fans creates an almost
analogue
feel for parameter editing. Both the controls and the associated
displays are located where most operators expect them to be.
Direct access is taken care of by six dual-concentric encoders
(with built-in switching function) and 14 keys per strip. As is familiar
from analogue consoles, consistent function assignment was
chosen for the two dual-encoder layers (e.g. the EQ Gain and EQ
Frequency
parameters of an equaliser band). Other (less frequently
used) functions can be selected via a switch. For example, pressing
an equaliser encoder allows you to switch between the filter frequency
and its »Q« setting.
AURATUS consoles are fitted with premium controls. These
include
smooth yet extremely precise 100-mm motorised faders,
soft-click
concentric encoders, extremely low noise keys with a perceptible
touch click, multicoloured LED fans, and high-resolution
TFT screens. The two panels in the console’s master section provide
two additional TFT screens for quick conformation of the settings
you are changing.
To sum it up, the AURATUS user interface is perfectly suited to
intuitive,
quick and reliable operation: Its straightforward handling
leads to relaxed work and high-quality productions not only in live
situations
but also in recording and production environments. |
