The AURATUS mixing-console system comprises a console
for operating
and controlling audio processing and the XCMC audio processor
in the NEXUS Base Device performing digital audio processing.
Extra NEXUS Base Devices supporting various audio formats and
realising
extensive signal routing can be added as required.
AURATUS and NEXUS are linked to each other via a handy and
inexpensive
RJ45 cable that transmits all control data plus the audio
from the talkback microphone, the headphone signals, the monitor
mix and eight AES/EBU signals for the goniometer. The individual
Base Devices are interconnected using optical fibre.
Being a compact desk, the AURATUS has a fixed bus layout consisting
of a maximum of 46 input channels, eight groups, one stereo
and one 5.1 sum, eight aux buses, and eight N-1 sums or alternatively
the same configuration but with 54 input channels and no
groups.
The complete DSP power of the AURATUS is accommodated on a
NEXUS standard plug-in board consuming just 8 watts: the XCMC.
The AURATUS’ audio quality is also traditional Stage Tec quality.
Signal processing
is performed using the renowned 40-bit floating-point
arithmetic.
Combined with the TrueMatch converters incorporated
into the NEXUS, this ensures exceptional sound quality on the
