Introducing CANTUS III

SALZBRENNER STAGETEC MEDIAGROUP introduces the CANTUS III digital mixing console that presents some major software enhancements and hardware changes compared to its predecessor.
One of the alterations is visible at a glance: The CANTUS III includes a new Central Control Unit with enlarged graphics tablet that can be operated either using the familiar pen or an included wireless mouse with no battery.
Especially in live situations, the new Reverse Routing display optimizes immediate perception of the settings of the freely configurable console: When a channel strip is selected, this new function shows all buses that the selected channel is routed to. Selecting one of these buses shows, in turn, a list of all channels that are routed to this bus, too. The CANTUS III implements the Reverse Routing display as a distinct expansion of the graphical audio-structure view on the integrated TFT screen.
The dynamic automation of the CANTUS III has undergone major functionality enhancements, too. The new Rehearse mode, in particular, needs to be mentioned. This function provides an Isolate Move mode allowing rehearsing, for example, smooth filter "sweeps" in one or more channels and automatically writing the optimum settings to the mix. The user can define drop-in and drop-out points between which the changes will occur. Unlike with the standard Isolate function, the new Isolate Move mode will not modify the entire channel with all its parameters but only the parameter that have actually been changed. This feature significantly simplifies the Isolate function.
More improvements relate to the snapshot automation that is mostly used for on-stage performances (theaters, operas, etc.). The new software now allows for editing individual elements of a console status. This simplifies the audio engineer's labour during rehearsals where the storable snapshot-automation status settings are modified all the time.
With these latest enhancements, SALZBRENNER STAGETEC MEDIAGROUP will even more improve the market share of the CANTUS - a mixing-console system that has been setting new standards in production, broadcasting, and radio technology and has become a classic in European broadcasting studios during the last decade.
