Buttenheim, April 2009: Heute die konzertante Aufführung einer Operette und morgen die Dichterlesung? Mehrfach genutzte Theater und Veranstaltungszentren kennen das Problem: Die Saalakustik ist entweder für Sprache oder Musik geeignet, aber nicht für beide Nutzungsarten – und schon gar nicht für verschiedene Musikgenres. Mit dem digitalen Raumakustik-System Vivace stellt die SALZBRENNER STAGETEC MEDIAGROUP auf der Prolight + Sound einen Ausweg aus dem Dilemma vor. Vivace ist ein äußerst leistungsfähiges System zur Optimierung der Raumakustik auf elektroakustischem Wege und sowohl als integrierte Lösung für AURUS- und NEXUS-Systeme wie als Stand-alone-Applikation erhältlich. Der große Vorteil: Mit Vivace kann die Akustik vom Live-Mischpult aus genau dem Programm angepasst werden, sei es nun für ein Sinfonieorchester oder eine Pop-Band.

Ein Vivace-System besteht aus einer Reihe von Mikrofonen zur Abnahme des Bühnengeschehens, dem eigentlichen Raumklangsystem und der Anbindung an die Audiomatrix. Die von den Mikrofonen gelieferten Eingangssignale werden in Vivace aufwändig in Echtzeit analysiert und bearbeitet. Die so bearbeiteten Signale werden anschließend über zahlreiche Lautsprecher wiedergegeben, die an vorab berechneten Positionen eingebaut sind.

In Vivace (italienisch für „lebendig“) kommt ein intelligenter Faltungsalgorhithmus zum Einsatz, mit dessen Hilfe man nahezu be-liebige Räume akustisch lebendig darstellen kann. Vivace berücksichtigt dabei nicht nur raum- und elektroakustische Parameter, sondern erstmalig auch psychoakustische Aspekte. Problemlos können zum Beispiel einem zu kleinen oder zu stark gedämpften Raum die fehlenden akustischen Eigenschaften virtuell hinzugefügt werden, so dass der Eindruck eines realen Konzertsaales entsteht.

Besonders komfortable und vorteilhaft ist die Integration von Vivace in AURUS/NEXUS-Systeme: Auf Knopfdruck stehen sämtliche Parameter und Einstelloptionen in der AURUS-Meterbridge zur Verfügung. Das mehrkanalige Vivace-System wird einfach über MADI an das vorhandene NEXUS-Audionetz angebunden, dessen patentierte TrueMatch-Wandler für die Wandlung der Eingangssignale in höchster Qualität bürgen. Die Kombination der virtuellen Raumakustik mit der AURUS-Szenenautomation öffnet den Weg zu noch eindrucksvolleren Inszenierungen: Auf Wunsch kann der „gefühlte“ Raumklang von Szene zu Szene wechseln und den Zuschauer in immer neue Räume mitnehmen.

How to build an event venue with good acoustics for all kinds of performances and music styles, from lectures to drama, from chamber music to symphonic concerts? German pro-audio-specialist SALZBRENNER STAGETEC MEDIAGROUP has found a way out of this familiar dilemma for theatres and multi-purpose halls. The digital Vivace offers effective electroacoustic room-enhancement as either fully integrated solution for AURUS- and NEXUS-systems or as stand-alone application and allows for adapting room acoustics to any kind of performance from the FOH desk.

Vivace (Italian for “vivid”) hardware configuration consists of a number of ambience microphones acquiring the on-stage sound and forwarding it via the audio backbone to the Vivace system. The system realtime analyses and processes the input-signals, then reproduces the results on a large number of carefully positioned build-in speakers. All room-enhancement processing is performed using a intelligent convolution algorithm, which enables any acoustic space to be modelled with the highest accuracy attainable. E.g. missing reflections and reverb can be easily added to rooms that would otherwise be too small or too absorbent for a large orchestra to perform. As the first system on the market Vivace considers electroacoustics and room parameters together with psychoacoustics for modelling the perfect sound.

Offering unparalleled user-friendliness and further advantages Vivace is also available as a fully integrated solution for AURUS/NEXUS-systems. All input and output signals are forwarded via the NEXUS audio back-bone equipped with STAGETEC’s patented TrueMatch converters. At the touch of a button the Vivace interface is reproduced on the bright AURUS screens. In combination with the AURUS scene automation the door to new and fascinating illusions is opened, since the perceived acoustics can be changed for each and every single scene.
